The ruler has been designed with clear, easy-to-read numbers (including nicely marked half-inches) and precise lines. The digitally printed markings in green and pink show up on a wide range of fabrics.
The Half Square and Quarter Square are both right angle rulers - they just calculate differently.  Use the Half Square when the straight of grain lies on the short leg; use the Quarter Square when the straight of grain is on the long leg.
